July 2023- Great-Grandpa Lin's Garlic vinegar Recipe

Well, today we definitely have a unique treat for the recipe of the day!

Today I am going to make a fun recipe that is easily replicated for meal prep, and it is actually from my grandpa, great Grandpa Lin. So grandpa lin (who is now a great grandpa to my brother's two kids) had a very interesting life story that I am proud to share about! So Grandpa Lin was actually a very useful and skilled doctor who worked in China, and on top of that he was also the manager of a whole wing in the hospital in his village. When he was a doctor in the village, he worked with my grandmother, who was a fantastic nurse. She really did a good job to help people in the hospital. For this amazing recipe from my grandpa, there are many uses. For example, you can put vinegar on all kinds of meats, ranging from chicken breast, to fish balls, to beef. Those are just some examples of the meat dishes that you can use. Now, here we go! Here is the most fantastic preserved garlic recipe! 



Great Grandpa Lin's Garlic recipe

  • 12 Large Peeled cloves of garlic cloves

  • 8 tbsp of black vinegar - Gold Plum Chinkiang Vinegar

  • A black Sharpie marker


Instructions


  • You roast the garlic

  • You fill up one half jar of vinegar

  • You write with a black Sharpie marker: "Preserved Garlic"

  • You wait up to 3 months and store it in a DIY fridge

  • Add 1 or 2 cloves to add flavors to the dish
